Welding Services

AKRO Tool Company's custom welding services are preferred throughout the region for quality, consistency and value. Our capabilities include heavy components such as structural members, machinery, beams and container supports.

We work with iron, steel, stainless steel and aluminum, using these welding methods:

MIG Welding

MIG welding is a high deposition, semi-automtic welding service sometimes referred to as "GMAW" - Gas Metal Arc Welding. It is ideal for making lengthy, continuous welds.

TIG Welding

Tungsten Inert Gas is a high quality welding service that allows welds to be made with or without filler. Its benefits include precise control over variables, and extremely low distortion.

Arc Welding

Arc Welding is also referred to as SMAW, stick or covered electrode welding, and is the most common (and most economical) of the welding services. The concentration of heat found with arc welding minimizes warping. This heat concentration also increases the depth of penetration and accelerates the welding operation, allowing more to be accomplished in less time.

Oxy-Acetylene

In oxy-acetylene welding, oxygen and acetylene gases combine to create a flame that melts the faces of the pieces to be welded, causing them to join. This versatile process welds most metals; AKRO uses it as a brazing torch, a cutting torch, and as an efficient means to heat metals for bending and forming.

Plasma Cutting

Plasma cutting is fast, economical, and well suited for unalloyed and low alloy steels, nickel-based materials, copper alloys, titanium alloys, and aluminum alloys. Plasma cutting is also compatible with electrically non-conducting materials.
